Trouble in Hondarribia

A woman dressed in military uniform is escorted by Basque riot police in order to participate in a commemorative parade marking the 1638 battle between the French and Spanish in Hondarribia, northern Spain September 8, 2005. The march has traditionally been kept strictly male and women dressed as soldiers attempting to take part are confronted by those opposed to a mixed gender parade, despite a new equality ruling which allows women to take part.
