Ertzaintza (Basque regional police) officers detain an unidentified pro-independence Basque demonstrator in Tolosa, Euskal Herria, Saturday Oct. 18, 2008.Police stopped and dispersed a street protest by several thousand supporters during the tribute in memory of two Basques activists, Jose Antonio Lasa y Jose Ignacio Zabala, kidnapped, tortured and murdered by the Spanish paramilitary group GAL in 1983, a group created and endorsed by then Spanish minister Felipe González.
Three unidentified demonstrators were detained, officials said.
