"Independent" Non Sense

These fellas call the propaganda machinery they run by the name of "The Independent".

They of course know little or no Euskera (Basque).

So, despite EHAK prominently displaying the words "Demokrazia eta Bakea" on their electoral campaign, which translates into Democracy and Peace, "The Independent", on an article titled "The 5-Minute Briefing: Basque Separatism", publishes this:
A sizeable proportion worries that nationalist demands unnecessarily provoke discord with Madrid. But a minority - represented by Ehak - consider themselves oppressed by Spain and want to secede. They argue that any means, including arms, are justified to achieve that aim.
No one from EHAK has said such a thing, but hey, they are Basques, they must be violent.

.... ... .

  1. "They of course know little or no Euskera (Basque)." Can you imagine a periodist learning chinese and japanese to inform about what is happeing there nowadays?
Anyway, very few people talks basque there. Politicians are forcing people to do it and even more, they use the language as an excuse to fire not-basque people from the adminsitration, as a way to keep the race pure.
If you are so conscious about the necesity of talking Euskera, the most coherent thing to do is posting in that language.

  2. Well, if they are covering the Basque elections they should at least get the translation for what they are going to be publishing.

But that specific paragraph was intended as a sarcastic comment.

If it is required for a publich servant to speak Euskera in order to comunicate with Euskera speaking people, then they are no losing their jobs over a racial issue, but because they are not qualifyied and there is people that is.

I dont post in Euskera because a doctor does not visit with healthy people.

And I am free to post in any language I want.
